Ode to my back porch

A place where I like to be

when I feel happy

when I feel at ease

Plants and birds

sharing the breeze

come together

all in peace

Birds visiting

from the trees

find seeds

and water to please

Plants with color

like no other

bright up the place

and brings a smile to your face

Having breakfast or lunch

in company 

or alone

perhaps a dinner lighted with a torch

there's no place like my back porch
