This weekend I said goodbye to a good old friend, my Palm Treo 680, who has been with me for many years.
Treo came to me over 3 years ago, when I first got him as a present from my husband I thought it was more than I needed, but then as time when by I realized how useful it was to have him with me... And although he falls into the category of a "smart phone", to me it was just a phone that always gave me good performance.
But now because of a terrible mistake from my part, it took a dip into the dreaded toilet and found his demise in the water!
The mourning time was brief as it's already been replaced by a Nokia E71 and although this new member has some very big shoes to fill, I am sure with time the memory of my beloved Treo will be only that, a memory, LOL!!!
Rest in peace Treo 680 and welcome to my life Nokia E71!

It was with great sadness that I said goodbye to Palm inc. Their products were superior and the company was killed purely by poor management.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your new phone and that we upgrade again soon!
My heart goes out to you and Treo, however, I believe after getting used to your new Nokei, you'll love it!! I won't even ask how it came to be that your beloved Treo, fell head first into the depths of the toilet bowl...debbie
ReplyDeleteive thought of flushing my phone a few times
ReplyDeleteOh no! Luckily that has never happened to me, but I have dropped my phone a few times and was so glad it didn't break. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteFound you from Life of Meg. My iPhone took a swim in the toilet and I was so upset. Got a new one and never bring it in the bathroom w/ me anymore!
ReplyDeleteA couple years ago I dropped my LG Chocolate phone into the toilet after I had flushed. I quickly grabbed it, and it patted it dry as fast as I could, but after 15 minutes, it stopped working. I found my old phone and switched back to it, and left the Chocolate phone on my table for over a week. Every once in awhile I'd try to turn it on, and surprisingly after almost 2 weeks, it worked again! I was so happy! By the way, I have heard that if you drop a cellphone in water, put it in a container of white rice for several hours so the rice soaks up the water. I hope I never have to test that theory, but I have heard it works! Good luck with the new phone!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new E71 - looks pretty darn snazzy! Pleased that the mourning didn't last too long :-)
ReplyDeleteMariasol, got a daft question for you. Which country is Grand Cayman? I guess it's just the Cayman Islands?? The Greek post office wrote USA on one of the former packages for you - maybe therefore it's takes such an unearthly long time to reach you :0)
Have a lovely day!
