Insta-weekend!

I am so ready for the weekend that my mind goes wondering around every time I think of it.

But Friday is finally here so in a matter of hours we will be all over Saturday and Sunday, yuppy!

Don't really have anything specific plan for the weekend but sometimes "no plan is the best plan", right?

On a different not, as most of you know I am sorta infatuated with Instagram and although I don't think I use it too much when I first saw this Instagram-Nickelback parody I couldn't help but laugh and relate to some of the words... HI-LA-RI-OUS!

I do have to say that I've never liked Nickelback because as my hubby would say, their songs are "whinny", but this parody just works out so well with that voice!

So, yes I have posted photos of my breakfast, my animals and even clouds, but I've never been a big fan of those bathroom self portraits, so of that I am not guilty and proud of it!

Well, hoping everybody has a great weekend and if so, don't hesitate to document it all via Instagram, LOL!

Happy Weekend!!!

Thursday Strikes Back

Hello All!

I woke up this morning, look out my window and realized it's Thursday again, which means tomorrow is Friday (yey for that!) but mainly it's throwback time.

Now, being that we are in January and the U.S. Football Season is at a very crucial point ( I think something called "playoffs"- not sure cause I don't know much about it!), also it means that the Super Bowl is just around the corner, I've decided to share a "commercial" throwback that was aired last year during the Super Bowl

And although the very first commercial of "The Force" is pretty good, I like this one better because of... guess what? The doggie... I am just a sucker for animals and this dog I just LOOVE!

So without further a due... here it is!

Isn't it awesome? Now, feel like sharing something from your past and send us on a Throwback? Please link below...

when Strong is your only choice

Although there's always at least 2 sides of a story and in some cases even more than one, the whole story deal with the Lance Armstrong's doping past, to me is just getting freaking outta control.

Give the man a break already!

From my point of view it is just too much and too unnecessary to put a person through all of this after they have already accepted responsibility on an error they committed and they are paying their dues in money, shame and personal rendition.

I was never an official fan of Mr. Armstrong when he was at "the top of the mountain", I do remember hearing about him winning his first Tour of France, then the second, and the third and the rest... until he reached an amazing record of 7 winnings.
Well, yes, he perhaps had some extra help by doping, but that doesn't take out the fact that he trained and was on his bike for many hours everyday, giving it all he got and more.

Now, the part that bothers me the most is; if he only had won the Tour 1 time and they found he was using "enhancements" is one thing, but where was the Anti-Doping agency for 7 freaking years while he was winning, over and over and over again?!?

Why now, why after so long they have to come with all their force and "crucify" him as if he was the only one man and athlete on the planet that ever used enhancement drugs to get the most out of his performance?!?

I do know he denied the allegations for a long time, but then he also said he wasn't the only one on his team that was doing it, so why aren't the rest of those athletes included in this "witch hunt", just because they didn't win the race they are exempt from the responsibility of using enhancers?

And as we speak many others athletes from different sport are using enhancement drugs and not being "hunt down" for it. Why is he?

This is all a freaky show of power and greed, leave the man alone, he has all been through cancer, 7 Tour de France and now this...

The world needs to start concentrating more in helping those in need and not boycotting those that have had a good positive life and have tried to make a difference (like in the case of Mr. Armstrong's "Livestrong" Cancer foundation)...

Just sayin'... I support Mr. Armstrong, because he is Human and like him we can make and perhaps made our share or mistakes and the best way to pay somebody is with forgiveness and kindness.

Happy Wednesday!

[random] 10 on Tuesday

Hello All! It's Tuesday already, one whole day of the week officially done with, but don't get too comfy, there's already a whole bunch more coming our way.

Any-who... Today I am linking back for another edition of 10 on Tuesday with Lin and Amber.

Now, my version today comes with a twist, I am going to feature some of my latest random finds on the internet- all 10 of them, starting with:

#10
Health Match = you makes your own calculations and decide what to add and what to subtract, right?

#9
This simply cracks me up!, specially because I had to double take the very first time I saw it, well, mainly because I didn't see her at all!!!

Can you see her? The Irish girl? Even a friend of mine who is Irish had a blast with this!

#8
As most of my readers know, I really like cats, in fact I love them. But lately I am absolutely and simply infatuated with all things grumpy cat. I just find every single one of the Meme's around...

HI-LA-RI-OUS!!!

Specially this one...

#7
I am pretty sure that if someone has internet, and access to Google, this applies...
It surely does to me at times, LOL!

#6.
When it comes to food portions, my husband is pretty peculiar about his sizing, specially when we are talking cake or pizza (among others), so this would totally apply to him!

#5
Isn't this the cutest memory stick family you've even seen?
Aaaaaawwww......

#4
Say, WHAT?

... No comments!

#3
Looooove Betty White, wished she was my Grandma... although both my Grandma's were pretty cool too, but not nearly as funny as Betty!

#2
Now, this is funny... sad, but true in some cases!

Now, feel like sharing in the fun and link back to Lin or Amber? Just click on their names above and share your own 10 on Tuesday... or cookie!

Insta- Monday!

It was a "blink" kind of a weekend for me, meaning way to fast but I did get around to do some of the things I wanted, so that was good!

I am happy to report that on Friday LT's appointment a the Vet went really well! He behaved like a real gentleman or should I say gentlecat? LOL!

LT, NOT so happy on the way to the Vet

The Vet said he has some issues with fleas but nothing too bad for an outdoor cat, he put on a shot on him to help him with the itching and also gave him "Revolution" to help with the infestation, same for all the other 6 cats... My pocket wasn't very happy $$$ wise but, oh well, they are all worth it!

On Saturday we went to run some errands and we stopped at my favorite nursery on the island to buy some bougainvilleas for our yard. I took some photos via Instagram so I am sharing those today.

I apologize in advance to those that do follow me via Instagram or Facebook for the repeat material, and those who don't, hope you like my photos.

FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS EVERYWHERE!!!!

Other than some rain yesterday, the weekend was a good one overall. got to finish my second book of the year so I am on my way to my 30 books a year challenge, woo-hoo!

Happy Monday and weekend ahead!

Officially Friday

Hello All! Friday is finally upon us and so it marks the official ending of the official second business week of the year, WOW, that is very fast.

Sometimes I feel as if I blink for too long, when I open my eyes we will be at the end of the month, time sure does fly when you are having a life, right?!?

This afternoon I am taking our feral cat LT to his first "official" Vet appointment, I say official because he's been at the Vets once before when he got neutered.

I've been promise to take him for a while, but then the holidays were just around the corner so I ended pushing it back to January.

Now I think it is long over due, he seems to have some weight issues (losing) and perhaps has parasites, also he has some weird things going on in his skin (which can also be parasite related).

LT
When I called to make the appointment last week, the girl from the Vet's office asked me if he is too feral and aggressive? Well, I said: "he is the tamest one of all 7 and he is very loving with us"... but I don't know if that would be the same case with the Vet, hope so... We shall see today, so wish me luck!

Hope everybody has a nice weekend, I don't have very big plans but I do have some things in my mind that I want to get done, hopefully that would happen.

Happy Friday, weekend and beyond!!!

blog funk... or else!

Lately I've been on a sorta "blog funk". It's not so much that I am lacking inspiration or even time to post, it's just that feel like "ehh"... I guess can't really put into words how I feel.

Anyway, here I am today and it's Thursday, which means it's Throwback time...

Well, today I've decided to go with something a bit different, it's still a throwback and it's still Thursday (duh!)... but I am not sharing something from MY past but from the past, which is actually what I think I'm doing from now on.

So, today I've decided to share a video that puts me in a better mood that just "ehh"... Because it's a great song but mainly I love Christopher Walken as an actor and even as a dancer, he is so peculiar and fun, would love to meet him in person.

Enjoyed that? I did and it actually gets me on a better mood...

Today I don't really have a link up option but I promise one by next week (in case you are interested, or not!)

Happy Throwback Thursday!

Wishing & hoping

"When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you"

And that's exactly what I did a few days ago, wishing upon a "charm" star!

Thanks to my lovely friend and fellow blogger Joan, who sent me a wonderful Christmas gift of a "Wishing Star Charm bracelet".

I made my wish and now I am wearing "it" in my wrist and in my heart, according to the instructions, when the right time comes for my wish to come true, the bracelet will break, waiting on that day now!

Of course I cannot reveal my wish but I can tell you that it's a very special one, and I know my wish will come true specially because it was given to me with love and friendship!

I will keep you guys posted about my wish coming true and when it does I know it's going to be wonderful, can't wait!

Happy Tuesday, wish everybody a wonderful day!!!

Intentions

When it comes to New Year's resolutions, there's so much that has already been said and done that this year I have decided to do something completely different.

This year I am going to keep as simple and to the point as I can possibly can, but this are not resolutions but mostly intentions that I am going to try...

1. Free my ego and listen more to my soul.

2. Free my mind of worries as most never happen and those that do would not act any different whether I worry or not.

3. Try to live simpler, getting rid of what I don't need and trying to NOT accumulate more things (that I don't need).

4. Give more, whether is money, time, friendship, attention, advice... So far I know nobody in life that has gone poor by giving!!!

5. Expect less from people and more from myself.

6. Nurture my mind and body with the right food/nutrients.

7. Find more time to spend in nature and less time in front of the computer/tv.

8. Think less and feel more, being aware by practicing more yoga and meditation.

9. Getting back in touch with people that I appreciate but I haven't had the time to let them know that lately.

10. Keep on exercising to keep my energy levels as well as health in order.

And that's it for me... how about you? Any intentions for this 2013?

Happy Friday and weekend!

still alive, but barely!

Hello All!

Although the year is on full blast I on the other hand still battling to gain my health back on 100%, or at least as close as possible.

I am doing much better from the flu that affected me the last days of 2012 but then after the new year another stomach flu seems to have possessed me and I was very sick for a whole day (Jan. 1st), with chills, dizzy and vomiting absolutely everything I try to eat, yuck!

So, yesterday I spend it at home as well and now I going to work today. I am still dizzy and kind of nauseous but I am able to keep food down, so hoping to keep it that way through the day, wish me luck!

Hoping everybody is starting the year with your "right" foot, I am still crawling but hoping to be back on feet and perhaps even running soon!

Happy Thursday :)

5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

In just a few hours (at least where I am), the year 2012 will be over and we will be receiving 2013 with arms while open and hearts filled with the most wonderful wishes and expectations for another set of fresh, brand new 365 days of the year.

So, before those last hours are due, I wanted to take a couple of minutes to thank all of my readers for being a part of my 2012 and making it as special as it was...

Without you guys reading and me writing, sharing the ups, downs, highs, and lows of my life the year 2012 would've been kind of dull and that it's why I am sending you guys the best of wishes for the new year.

As far as 2013 goes, my suggestion is; Take it as it comes, simply open to the best, but mainly with a thankful heart knowing that God has giving us this far to go to and for a good reason, so let's make the best out of it.

In 2013 let's try; loving more, giving more to those in need, taking time to listen to our soul instead of our ego, lending a helping hand, eating healthier, disconnecting from the electronic to connect with the human in us... And specially cultivating our relationship with yourself and God.

Happy New Year to your and your loved ones!!!

See you in 2013

Thanks for the germs!

When it comes to getting sick and having the flu I have to say 2012 is been a good year to me. Well, up until 2 days ago when my body couldn't handle the holiday germs anymore and now I've been in bed sick as a dog. Fever, chills, cold sweats, stomach aches, cough and even sinus infection.... Got the whole package. Ugh! If only I can get rid of this before the end of year, dont wanna start 2013 lacking on the health department. Hope everybody is having a great weekend or at least feeling better than me!

Friendship, Cheer & Joy

I think that the Holiday Season mainly has meaning if spend with loved ones. Family is essential but when there's distances between them, friends are always the next best thing.

Although I do have family on the island (my husband and pets), this Christmas was filled with friendship cheer and joy.

On Christmas we had a friend-full day, after opening gifts and getting this beauty from my "Santa Baby"

we went to Brunch with a bunch of our friends... So it was a day filled with good friends, good food and lots of friendship plus it was a gorgeous day!!!

all of us!

Emma & Me
Me & My Hubby
All the girls (we are all kinda matching colors!)

Helen & Christian
Jo, Jack and Jenn

Then we had our "Pink" gift exchange in honor our friend Jo (Our Cancer-Free Friend!).

Helen and Jo ready for the gifts
with our Pink gifts!
After the brunch, we relaxed for a couple of hours and then it was off the Dinner at some other friends... Will share some of those pictures tomorrow.

Hoping everybody had a wonderful Holiday and that you make the most out of the last days of the year... And then is 2013!!!

Today is my post #1001, yey!!!!

Happy Thursday :)

Christmas Cayman Style

When it comes to Christmas light displays there are two places on the islands that go full on with the whole deal, in fact it's something pretty extraordinary and people drive at night to visit them and take photos.

On Saturday night we stopped at one of those places (very briefly) to take some photos, hopefully I will be able to stop by the other before the New Year (although it's much more out of the way for us, so not sure it will happen).

Anyway, here are a few photos of the one we visited on Saturday... ( Please don't even try to imagine what their power bill is when Christmas is done, ouch!).

They also have a Nativity Set and some animated caroling set, kinds of spooky if you ask me!

Wish we've had a bit more time to stay longer and take more and better pictures, but this would do for now...

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Work Party

Weather is pretty windy out from yesterday and in fact it's kinda of chilly for us, last night it was 74 degrees, imagine that! LOL...

I bet all of you that live in the North and are reading this are laughing, but really to us that is chilly!

Last night we had my work Christmas party. First we went bowling to the only bowling ally we have on the island, it's a little 4 lane one, that was fun (although I literally suck at it!)... Then off to dinner at a fancy restaurant (The Cracked Conch), it was nice!

I didn't take many pictures at all but we did have a great time.

Also in between the bowling alley and the restaurant we stopped to see the Christmas lights display at a local house that goes FULL on... I have lots of pictures to share tomorrow, you will be amazed!

Happy Sunday!

Salsa Dancer

Mainly because certain things are just too good not to share, because I love dogs and have a soft spot for talking or dancing animals and specially because Christmas is coming up...

Here's an awesome video for your enjoyment.

Happy Saturday!!!

Friday, December 21, 2012

hello tomorrow

If you are reading this today, it's because it's already December 21st so I guess the world's still around and the Mayan perhaps are yet another civilization that we do not understand and try to interpret in the wrong way!

Now, the real question is, When is the world really going to end?

To me the world ends every day that;

an innocent gets killed,

a child gets abused,

animals gets abandoned or abused or killed,

acres of woods get chop down for the sake of "progress",

governments use their countries resources in the wrong way,

animals species get wiped out,

and even when people use and abuse the name of God in vain ...

But mainly to me, the world ends when we do not live our life to the fullest because the day we'll die that is really the day the world will end for us.

So my message today is,

instead of worrying about the end of world, let's focus on all the good and positive things we can do between here and then...

Happy 21st of December, happy weekend and beyond!!!!

Thro-ho,ho-back Time!

The holidays are just around the corner and being that today is Throwback Thursday, I've decided to share our Christmas Photo from 2009!

And now for the five photo facts:

1. Both the dogs are wearing red ribbons but you can't really notice them!

2. This was the year we got married, in May.

3. Our photo was taken in the back deck, we ended up taking a few as it was really have to make the dogs stay (specially Sheba!).

4. I still have that dress and perhaps I would wear it for this years photo (thinking of doing something in the same lines.

5. The feeling of wishing Merry Christmas was there in 2009 and is here in 2012 again.

Wanna join in the fun and share a pic from your past? Please do link your blog and photo next.

 happy Throwback Thursday!!!
