My favorite doll was Rainbow Brite. But also I had many barbie dolls. Some were "regular" ones, others were princesses and I even had a Barbie Rocker.
Then I also had a Ken and even Barbie's niece Skipper. Oh boy, I would play with my Barbies for hours, always making up houses for them and then my cousins would come over and bring their dolls and we would play about... living, I guess? Perhaps, pretending we were adults through the interaction of our dolls... funny!
Now, why am I writing about Barbie dolls today?
Well, because today's song challenge is to post- A song that is a guilty pleasure.
So I guess my enjoyment of Barbie dolls when I was a little girl still has a spark in my heart with the fact that I have always loved and enjoyed this song, although I know it's a silly song, but what can I say? It's my guilty pleasure.
And the song is no other than Barbie Girl by Aqua.
Now, this song made me go back into memory lane and look up some of the Barbie dolls I used to have and enjoy, here are some that I remember I had and that I found on the internet.
Love Me Barbie (shown below) had such a pretty dress, the red part was "velvet-y" and the rest was very flow-y and soft. She was very pretty until I decided to cut her hair and that didn't turn out as I expected, so she ended up being, not so pretty!!!
She was awesome, with her huge and wild hair (reminds me of someone I know- me!) and because she was a rock star, she came with a stand, a guitar a a microphone...
What is your guilty pleasure song?!?!?
6 commented; now it's your turn!:
WTF is that video about?
I had a Peaches N Cream Barbie, and I had a Todd doll. I also had the pink Barbie car! I also loved Rainbow Brite, and I had the doll, a pillow that you could tuck her into, and a Sprite. And guess what?? I still have all of them!!! LOL
Oh, and by the way, I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes that Barbie Girl song!!! I admit that I have it on my mp3 player!! lol
I didn't ever play with Barbies. I played with my stick horse, Fort Apache Set, Lassie Barn Set, Plastic horses, and roller skates!! We lived in Texas - everything was about horses, Indians and doga!! lol...debbie
OMG I have too many "guilty pleasure" songs to list but one of my faves is "Little Red Corvette" I used to have a tiny 1983 Honda Civic and when that song would come on I would crank up the radio and sing my heart out.
You sure had A LOT of Barbies! lol. I had one Barbie and Midge (do you remember her?) I always wanted a Skipper! I loved her hair!
Wow lovely Barbie dolls! I only had one barbie, but lots of bigger dolls with long hair, that I loved to comb. Am pleased about your choise of song, since Aqua is a DANISH group you know!? The female singer is norwegian, but the guys are danish. Love that song and the making fun of the perfect "barbie world" - and barbie dolls ARE pretty!! :-))
