Well, if I was to be stranded on and island it probably wouldn't be by choice, so it's not like I would literary bring something, but nevertheless if I was giving the option of bringing just one thing, I think it would go for...
a blanket!!!
Yeah I guess I could also bring some kind of tool to help me cut stuff. But I just feel a blanket could protect me from the cold at night, mosquitoes, from the sun during the day (in case I need shade), and I can also use it as a pillow...
Of course you can't really open a coconut with a blanket, or start a fire, but it would surely make my nights and perhaps days much more comfortable.
What about you? What would you bring to a deserted island (that is not a person)???

If I could take only one thing on a desert island, it would be a K-Mart Superstore!
Cute joke!!
On impulse, I would WANT to bring chapstick. I wouldn't want my lips feeling like sandpaper. But that wouldn't be very smart.
So, I think a blankie is a wise choice. Can I copy you? ;)
Kind of "scarry" scenario, since one would need so many survival tools - however, my first thought is a huge notebook and lots of pencils, so that I could write down my thoughts and thus try to keep my spirit going, I believe that would help me staying mentally sane...but surely your blanket looks attractive, so could I borrow that too? ;-)
