Friday Letters

Dear Friday: As we come to the closing of yet one more week of the year I have to say I am very happy you always come around and bring Saturday and Sunday along for the ride!

Dear Humanity: What is wrong with our species? Starting with the Boston tragedy and pretty much every other news on tv, internet and radio, so many conflicts, so many people suffering and all of it for the wrong reasons, we need to do something SOON, wake up and realize what really matters and what doesn't and although we ask God for help, it has to start with us and our own actions towards ourselves and others.

Dear Husband: If you feel like granting me a wish anytime soon, it could be anything in the lines of these...

Dear Earth Day: You are just around the corner (April 22nd), so this weekend we need to make sure and do a bigger effort to show you love and care.

It doesn't matter what you do, even something as small as carrying a small grocery bag and filling it up with garbage, or perhaps turning off the a/c for the weekend and opening your windows instead, or even maybe taking your car for inspection?

Even just the bare minimum is better than nothing, right?

Dear hands: prepare yourself for yet another batch of amigurumi creations, I am currently working on an octopus, then I have a cat and perhaps another octopus (if the first one comes out nice) already lined up afterwards.

Dear facebook friends: PLEASE STOP sharing and putting on your walls photos of abused, killed or tortured animals, that is just horrible and although it exists I do not want to see it (even in photo), so either you stop or simply I will have to delete you fo-eva'!

Dear Monsanto and GMO's: you SUCK, how can companies play with people life like this? Genetically Modified Organisms equals poison and it's unbelievable the amount of companies that are doing this to us... Check out his depressing list of companies using genetically modified organisms.

Dear followers/readers: Wishing you guys a wonderful weekend and looking forward to an even better week to come after that!!!

Random Thursday: Holy Grail Cosmetics

Hello random Thursday!

Today's topic comes at a time in my life when I actually do wear a bit of makeup although I've never been much into the whole "full on" make up thing, although when it comes to give my face a bit of "life" there are some products that could fall into the following category...

If you are anything like me, then that means you have mostly oily skin, specially nowadays and since  I started using sunscreen everyday of my life, then with more reason I have to rely on the following products:

1.
First and foremost, the Clinique liquid facial soap (in my case for oily skin) it's got to be THE BEST soap for  faces eva'! It's mild enough but it leaves my face truly clean and feeling refreshed.

Many times I've used other cleanser soaps that if I use toner after it I still find residue of the makeup in my face, but not with the Clinique soap, it leaves nothing but a clean feeling without over-drying my skin, it is fabulous!

2.
Other than the liquid facial soap I only have one truly "holy grail" product which is the Estee Lauder Bronzer Goddess...

What do I like about it? Well, it's matte but it still have a bit of shimmer, you can wear it over foundation or by itself, but mainly it doesn't give you an orange tone so it works with almost any face complexion.

So, if you've never tried bronzer but would like to venture into the world of color without the sun or perhaps you don't even use blush but still want to add some shade to your face, this is a must have on your makeup list, trust me, you won't be disappointed!

3.
And last but not least, although it's probably not consider a cosmetic per se, I have to go with plain and simple Vaseline!!!

I really use this stuff when it comes to cosmetic/beauty related; I use it as a  lipstick base as it makes my lips shine more, use it to remove eye makeup and I sometimes mix it with my night moisturizer and it helps clear out blemishes overnight!

But mostly I use Vaseline as mascara, ever since I used to have an allergy that will make my eyes swollen a lot, somebody recommended Vaseline instead of mascara and I've been using that ever since, it works great!

Also I've heard that if you apply it to your eyelashes before going to bed, it's supposed to help your eyelashes grown thicker and fuller, still need to try that!

Well, that's it for me, as you can see I do not use a lot of cosmetics, but this products I will have a hard time living without....

How about you, any special "holy grails" cosmetics you wanna share with us?

Dinner time!

This is what dinner time looks like around our house, well, perhaps I should say around the outdoor area of our house.

As some of you know we have 7 rescued/feral cats that live in our property and although some of them are not-so feral anymore, they are quite demanding when it comes to food.... well, who isn't, right?

Thank Goodness we are able to provide for them with food, shelter and lots of love... After more than a year of having them, I cannot imagine and don't want to imagine our lives without them.

Happy Hump day!!!

“Be careful what you water your dreams with.
Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream.
Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success.
Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.” ― Lao Tzu

Friday Letters

Dear "Me": We did it....

Dear Maxine; you totally get me, LOL!

Dear Maya Tulum: After watching this video I can't help but miss living in your premises, the beautiful white sand beach that you rest in, the wonderful people that works there, the massages and even the Yoga Classes.

For those readers that don't know, I lived in Mexico for about 3 year and worked at the wonderful Maya Tulum Yoga Retreat and Resort, I was the Front Desk Manager and enjoyed my work and life a lot...
I miss it but wouldn't change my life right now, well, unless I can go back there with hubby and pets included!

This is a video of the hotel and the property, if you even have a chance to visit, don't hesitate and let me know if you would like some tips about the area!

Dear Tina Fey: You are awesome, love you as Liz Lemon on 30 Rock and enjoy watching re-runs of the show.

Dear Sheba: I am sorry your itchiness is coming back and you have to wear the "cone of shame" again, tomorrow we are taking you to the Vet and hopefully we can get you some relief again.

Dear Weekend: I can hardly wait for you to step into the picture, I want to sleep in, relax and I am even looking forward to a lil' party tomorrow night, yey!

Dear readers: have yourself a merry lil' weekend, enjoy every minute!

Random Thursday

Today I am trying something different and for the first time, I am joining a group of awesome fellow bloggers and from now on I am going to do my best to link up for...

Every week Em, Lin and Meg choose a random theme to post about, and today being my first day, the theme is...

Well, that is and easy one to figure it if you have read my blog before... Wanna guess what my #1 addiction is?

I am a BIG TIME...

Yes, I am addicted to Coffee... I love the smell, the taste and the fact that it's something you can pretty much find anywhere and it's usually good or decent.

I take my coffee, black and no sugar, to me that is the best possible way to really enjoy the flavor. Although I do sometimes enjoy a nice Cappuccino with brown sugar and cinnamon on top!

Now, when it comes to "iced" coffee, that's not something I am very much into, but if it's the only form of coffee available I will surely go for it!

But my addictions don't stop at coffee... My next addiction (which is not that bad in the grand scheme of things) is no other than Crochet!

It is by far the best indoor hobby I've ever had and it's such a HUGE part of my life that at this point I cannot imagine not crocheting for the rest of my days.

Plus it's amazing that with my own two hands I can create such cool things to gift to people and even keep to myself.

Here are the latest project I've finished...

Red Eye Tree Frog for my Brother and SIL

Pot Holder for my SIL

Kitty Cat for my friend Paxton
And right now I am working on another potholder that I am going to take for a House Warming Party on Saturday...

Like I said before, "in the grand scheme of things" I think my addictions are not too, too bad, at least I am not addicted to sugary things or anything illegal... right?

What about you? Have any "addictions" you want to come out clean with, LOL!

Happy Thursday... Now I am off to check out the rest of the link up for Random Thursday!
