5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

In just a few hours (at least where I am), the year 2012 will be over and we will be receiving 2013 with arms while open and hearts filled with the most wonderful wishes and expectations for another set of fresh, brand new 365 days of the year.

So, before those last hours are due, I wanted to take a couple of minutes to thank all of my readers for being a part of my 2012 and making it as special as it was...

Without you guys reading and me writing, sharing the ups, downs, highs, and lows of my life the year 2012 would've been kind of dull and that it's why I am sending you guys the best of wishes for the new year.

As far as 2013 goes, my suggestion is; Take it as it comes, simply open to the best, but mainly with a thankful heart knowing that God has giving us this far to go to and for a good reason, so let's make the best out of it.

In 2013 let's try; loving more, giving more to those in need, taking time to listen to our soul instead of our ego, lending a helping hand, eating healthier, disconnecting from the electronic to connect with the human in us... And specially cultivating our relationship with yourself and God.

Happy New Year to your and your loved ones!!!

See you in 2013

Thanks for the germs!

When it comes to getting sick and having the flu I have to say 2012 is been a good year to me. Well, up until 2 days ago when my body couldn't handle the holiday germs anymore and now I've been in bed sick as a dog. Fever, chills, cold sweats, stomach aches, cough and even sinus infection.... Got the whole package. Ugh! If only I can get rid of this before the end of year, dont wanna start 2013 lacking on the health department. Hope everybody is having a great weekend or at least feeling better than me!

Friendship, Cheer & Joy

I think that the Holiday Season mainly has meaning if spend with loved ones. Family is essential but when there's distances between them, friends are always the next best thing.

Although I do have family on the island (my husband and pets), this Christmas was filled with friendship cheer and joy.

On Christmas we had a friend-full day, after opening gifts and getting this beauty from my "Santa Baby"

we went to Brunch with a bunch of our friends... So it was a day filled with good friends, good food and lots of friendship plus it was a gorgeous day!!!

all of us!

Emma & Me
Me & My Hubby
All the girls (we are all kinda matching colors!)

Then we had our "Pink" gift exchange in honor our friend Jo (Our Cancer-Free Friend!).

After the brunch, we relaxed for a couple of hours and then it was off the Dinner at some other friends... Will share some of those pictures tomorrow.

Hoping everybody had a wonderful Holiday and that you make the most out of the last days of the year... And then is 2013!!!

Christmas Cayman Style

When it comes to Christmas light displays there are two places on the islands that go full on with the whole deal, in fact it's something pretty extraordinary and people drive at night to visit them and take photos.

On Saturday night we stopped at one of those places (very briefly) to take some photos, hopefully I will be able to stop by the other before the New Year (although it's much more out of the way for us, so not sure it will happen).

Anyway, here are a few photos of the one we visited on Saturday... ( Please don't even try to imagine what their power bill is when Christmas is done, ouch!).

They also have a Nativity Set and some animated caroling set, kinds of spooky if you ask me!

Wish we've had a bit more time to stay longer and take more and better pictures, but this would do for now...

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Work Party

Weather is pretty windy out from yesterday and in fact it's kinda of chilly for us, last night it was 74 degrees, imagine that! LOL...

I bet all of you that live in the North and are reading this are laughing, but really to us that is chilly!

Last night we had my work Christmas party. First we went bowling to the only bowling ally we have on the island, it's a little 4 lane one, that was fun (although I literally suck at it!)... Then off to dinner at a fancy restaurant (The Cracked Conch), it was nice!

I didn't take many pictures at all but we did have a great time.

Also in between the bowling alley and the restaurant we stopped to see the Christmas lights display at a local house that goes FULL on... I have lots of pictures to share tomorrow, you will be amazed!

Happy Sunday!

hello tomorrow

If you are reading this today, it's because it's already December 21st so I guess the world's still around and the Mayan perhaps are yet another civilization that we do not understand and try to interpret in the wrong way!

Now, the real question is, When is the world really going to end?

To me the world ends every day that;

an innocent gets killed,

a child gets abused,

animals gets abandoned or abused or killed,

acres of woods get chop down for the sake of "progress",

governments use their countries resources in the wrong way,

animals species get wiped out,

and even when people use and abuse the name of God in vain ...

But mainly to me, the world ends when we do not live our life to the fullest because the day we'll die that is really the day the world will end for us.

So my message today is,

instead of worrying about the end of world, let's focus on all the good and positive things we can do between here and then...

Happy 21st of December, happy weekend and beyond!!!!

Thro-ho,ho-back Time!

The holidays are just around the corner and being that today is Throwback Thursday, I've decided to share our Christmas Photo from 2009!

And now for the five photo facts:

1. Both the dogs are wearing red ribbons but you can't really notice them!

2. This was the year we got married, in May.

3. Our photo was taken in the back deck, we ended up taking a few as it was really have to make the dogs stay (specially Sheba!).

4. I still have that dress and perhaps I would wear it for this years photo (thinking of doing something in the same lines.

5. The feeling of wishing Merry Christmas was there in 2009 and is here in 2012 again.

Wanna join in the fun and share a pic from your past? Please do link your blog and photo next.

 happy Throwback Thursday!!!

Ginger Monday :)

Nothing gets me in the best of holiday spirit like my house smelling of delicious holiday cookies plus baking to the soundtrack of "The Holiday Movie" which is a fabulous mix of music with a bit of holiday cheer!

My Gingerbread Man cookie project came out wonderfully...

I have to say that I didn't suffer the smelly party and although I did try one (without the frosting), I didn't feel that bad because the recipe I used is a low fat!

When I say low fat, meaning it's got much less sugar than regular cookies as the recipe replaces most of the sugar with unsweetened Apple Sauce. Of course this makes the cookie dough a bit stickier but not that bad, you you have to do is use plenty of flour when spreading and cutting the cookies before you put them in the oven.

I think I left mine a bit too long as they came out quite dark and my husband says they are a bit dry, more like ginger snaps... But oh well, still look and taste alright!

Now, the decorating part, was hard, but they ended up looking quite decent.

I made a batch and got about 50 cookies in total, I am giving one to my boss and his family and another one to my husband's new boss and his family.

Here's the final result sitting on my boss's desk!

So, how was your weekend? Anything special going on? Please do share...

Less than 10 days to Christmas, what are your plans?

Happy Monday!!!
